2nd shipment of OfficeMax file cabinet: BROKEN again and not functional
This is so incredibly frustrating, I actually decided not to complain about it and keep their crap. I’m just too busy.
But now the damn thing is in my way and it’s just not usable. So I’m taking the time to do my civic duty and let everybody else know how bad Office Max sucks. Longtime readers might recall that Office Depot couldn’t ship to the right address if their life depended on it, so I’ve tried Office Max.
They shipped to the right address ok, but the first time the file cabinet was broken on the top.
HUGE hassle, pack everything up again, call, bla bla bla and waste my time, wait for the delivery, mark the old package for return, hassle hassle hassle.
Got the new delivery and was very excited to finally have a file cabinet with rollers for my garage. Since I’m still working on umpteen projects it’ll have to be moved a lot, but I got all these appliance, tool and whatever instructions and warranties that HAVE to be filed.
Of course the damn thing is broken again. Thought I’d duct tape it, just to have something for all these papers that are driving me crazy.
The million dollar question:
How are those wheels supposed to fit?
Am I having my stupid month?
There are no other parts, no instructions, and the wheels obviously fall right out of those slots.
HUH?
Here’s a larger picture, maybe the rocket scientist readers can help me out:

My email to OfficeMax:
I posted about my problems with the file cabinet at [this URL]. I’d really like to know what to do with those wheels, I hope the pictures are helpful.

CreditLitigation.org with the Capital One limit political action HACKED
I immediately checked my other major sites, but they all worked. And no, I don’t think (although I can’t prove it) that Capital One was responsible. I just made the mistake of leaving an old install of Invision Power Board (IPB) on that account and it got hacked.
I think this was the first time any of my sites were hacked in 11 years on the web.
Since this is not of interest to most readers, the details about the hack are below:

Discus forum software = deadware, no development in years
This is really disappointing.
I wouldn’t even post here if I could find anything about development at THEIR forum or any way to follow up on my inquiries regarding upgrades.
For years they’ve been stringing their paying customers along, posting lie after lie.
Kevin W. Paulisse even had the nerve to state publicly at their forum:
“Version 5 remains under development, but final testing revealed a few technical challenges yet to be addressed.”
Yeah right. That was on 11/15 2005!
They’re living off sales of version 4, which has been around for many years. And rather than updating their paying customers, I’ve been wasting my precious time trying to find an update at their forum.
Kevin closes the threads regarding development, so you can’t post to request an update. And they actually SOLD an upgrade to ver. 4 that had no useful new features at all. People questioned why they should pay over $70 for NOTHING. Fortunately I didn’t upgrade.
Of course I’ll e-mail a copy of this posting to Kevin W. Paulisse—he needs to know that his conduct is not appreciated and that he ought to stop scamming people right now. I couldn’t find his e-mail, so I sent this URL to “sales”:
“Your inquiry has been assigned tracking number INQ 06-11-26.211225. We will follow up with you as soon as possible, generally the same or next business day.”
I will update with the response. [posted below]
And if you are considering purchasing Discus, here’s a repost of my posting at the Discus forum over a year ago:

More apologies - CreditFactors, Fight Back!!!, CreditCourt etc. server is down
I opened a support ticket, but since I’m hosting in Europe and they don’t provide support at night, it might be tomorrow till they fix what brought their entire network down. And of course I won’t get any mail at these domains either, only the creditsuit.org address works. That’s of course why I’m hosting the blog at Pmachine, redundancy.
Sorry!

Use your credit card purchase protection and warranty extension
I just got my $480 check from Visa. In 1/04 I had bought my $2K Sager notebook with the one year warranty. I considered buying the $200+ extended warranty, but then decided to use the Visa with the extended warranty option.
Almost 2 years later, the motherboard went out and Sager gave me a $480 + shipping repair estimate for a refurb motherboard with a 90 day warranty. I actually wanted to use the Visa payment towards the purchase of a NEW computer, it didn’t seem like it was a good idea to spend that much on a 2 years old machine and already they don’t have parts anymore. Unfortunately, Sager sales didn’t call me back and Sager seems to be going the way of ARM Computer. Had nothing but problems with Sager lately, that’ll be a separate posting.
So I told Sager to fix the machine after all, didn’t have time to deal with this and I need to have a backup machine. But it sure is nice to know that those credit card benefits actually pay off. Not only did I save the cost for the extended warranty, but it sure is cool that they sent me the check to spend any way I like.
