The IRS is investigating “non profit” credit counselors
The article was in the NY Times, but I couldn't find a working link. So here's what I found at http://www.unemployedfordean.org/:"The Internal Revenue Service is investigating the business practices of nonprofit credit counseling services, which advise millions of people in debt.

Capital One changed reporting
According to the Equifax CreditWatch notification, the reporting of one of my Cap One accounts changed from:"Amount in H/C column is credit limit"
to
"Credit Card"

Called Cap One litigation department
Called their main office 804-967-1000 and was told that there is no "Beverly Crump" - the person listed as their legal agent with the state of VA.So I explained that I filed a federal suit, and she transferred me. When the guy asked me for my credit card number, I knew I was in COLLECTIONS.
He gave me a "customer service" number, the regular number where you need to go through automated verifications to get customer service, which of course I did NOT want.
So I called the corporate office again, explained what happened, and got a litigation VM, promising a call back. I left my case #, name and phone # twice, explained that I need to know whether they'll sign the waiver, and I recorded the message. We'll see if anyone calls.

Maybe I'll find out, Mr. McAfee should have received my complaint this week, as he is one of my named defendants.
