Mr. Schifferli’s response regarding the LHR refusal to investigate collection dispute
I recently posted about my LHR experience:
My letter to LHR regarding its refusal to investigate my client’s collection dispute
On Friday I received this fax in response to my 5/4/09 letter:
RE: [redacted] Our file # 1868208
Dear Christine Baker:
We are in receipt of a letter from your company dated May 4, 2009 regarding a client of yours, [redacted].
Contrary to the statements in your letter, LHR Inc. did indeed report the account in question to the credit bureaus as a disputed item on 5/3/2009 which was our update cycle immediately following the receipt of your clients’ letter.
Sincerely,
Mr. Schifferli
I just sent this followup fax:

Re: LHR refusal to investigate consumer disputes (redacted—account 1868208)
Dear Mr. Schifferli:
You stated in your 5/8/09 fax that you reported the collection as disputed to the credit bureaus on 5/3/09 with your update cycle immediately following the receipt of my client’s dispute. Mr. Schifferli, how often do you update with the credit bureaus?
Also, please be advised that reporting the collection as disputed to the credit bureaus will NOT increase FICO scores.
It is ASTOUNDING that LHR failed to substantiate the credit reporting, continues to report false data to the credit bureaus, refuses to validate the account, refuses to provide any information about the account whatsoever and continues to destroy my client’s credit rating.
Mr. Schifferli, please provide your full name and title for my complaints. Due to the 79 complaints about LHR at ripoffreport.com, I decided to provide copies of my FTC complaint to the NY and WA AGs.
Sincerely,
Christine Baker

Can you believe this?

After a serious illness, I admit owing a balance + early contract cancellation to Suncom Wireless. However I had (2) collection agencies trying to collect the amount. I paid ARS because they did not charge me the interest fee that LHR did. LHR claims they own my debt and it was purchased from Suncom. I cannot afford to pay this debt twice. LHR has been advised of the payment, but still holds it as an unpaid debt on my credit reports. ...
Unbelievable! What a vile outfit. My LHR experience was not an exception, buy TYPICAL. LHR ought to be sued out of business. Of course I’ve seen LHR on many credit reports, but this is the first time that it’s the ONLY collection on the reports.
I just registered LHR-COLLECTION-VIOLATIONS.INFO and it’ll probably be a week until I get the site set up—have a lot going on. LHR needs to be EXPOSED!!!!
My client lost her job last week along with computer access.
The upside is that she’ll have more time to contact attorneys. Since LHR is her ONLY collection, it is extremely damaging.
I reviewed the current Experian reporting and LHR reported as disputed, but continues to report as installment loan collection with an over $7k balance. Unbelievable.
People need to STOP paying collectors.
Your FICO scores will NOT increase when collections are reported as paid. There is NO reason to pay debt buyers at all!
If NOBODY pays them anymore, they’ll be out of business really fast. The CRAs will HAVE to delete when they don’t verify disputes.
THAT is how you create justice in America.
VOTE WITH YOUR MONEY!
