Reader mail: Can’t cancel Quicken bill pay
Hi Christine,
I have 2 accounts that I can’t get bill-pay 9.95 monthly charges off my accounts. I call quicken and I’m put on hold for a period I’m unwilling to hold for.
What is the solution?
Regards,
There’s really no solution. I recently sued NetZero for billing after I cancelled, they finally offered to pay what they owe me (around $170), but refused to compensate me for the expense of the lawsuit and having spent over 25 hours on getting this refund.
They get away with this crap because America is run by the corporations and “consumers” are exactly that:
Human beings with no other purpose than to generate profits for corporations and their executives and shareholders.

Quicken Bill Pay… ** DON"T DO IT!!! ***
What a pain in the butt. I had signed up for Bill Pay and did not like it. I THOUGHT I had canceled it on-line during the trial period but the intuit web system is so poorly done that apparently I didn’t really cancel it. After 6 emails to someone who’s English is not their first language finally gets back to me, they tell me they can’t help me and that I should call this number. After calling that number and telling my story of woe I am again routed to ANOTHER number because Quicken does NOT RUN BILL PAY, some other company does. I again (what is this, the 8th time?) explain my problem to be told, oh you can’t cancel on-line you have to call us to do that. BTW- buried in the user agreement is this final number 877-486-8844. Make note of it if you are trying to cancel because if you don’t call, they keep billing your bank account, with NO REFUND!
Despite my lawsuit, NetZero still didn’t refund!
“Quicken Bill Pay… ** DON"T DO IT!!! *** “
People don’t search until AFTER they had a problem - just like you. People need to sue, send out press releases, demand that the executives go to prison for fraud.
Nothing else will stop them.
Here’s my experience with Quicken backup- They bill your credit card automatically. I wanted to cancel and sent them an email. Well, no, I cannot get a refund because it is past the 30 days. This is the deal. My date of renewal was Sept. 18th. They didn’t even bill my credit cart until Oct. 24th. Well past the 30 day “cancellation period.” This so deceptive. I can’t believe they can actually get away with this. I have sent several emails and still no agreement on a refund. Maybe one day there will be a class action suit against these guys.
Lou,
Thanks for the phone number. After trying for months to close this account, I called the number you provided and within minutes, the account was closed and I got a confirmation email. Thanks again.
Brent
