KQED sold out too - refusing equal time for Cindy Sheehan
From a Cindy Sheehan campaign email:
…
Now KQED, a so-called public broadcasting station, has given Nancy Pelosi another chance to spout her talking points and tout her incomprehensible capitulation to the Bush Administration and Wall Street in an interview that she will be doing solo on Wednesday morning. In the interest of “equal time” the station is “generously” allowing we other three candidates a chance to debate each other (myself and the Libertarian and Republican) after she is on by herself. Cindy for Congress does not think that three for one is “equal time” and Cindy for Congress believes that the only Congressional campaign here in the District should get real one for one equal time, or KQED should sponsor a real debate so Nancy Pelosi will have to talk about the issues.
KQED informed Cindy for Congress that they are not “focusing” on the Congressional race this year. Of course they aren’t: Nancy Pelosi actually has a fierce opponent. In fact, a site search of the KQED website pulls up only one reference to the Cindy for Congress campaign for the entire 14 months we have been in existence.
ACTION ALERT: Call (live call in number: 866 733 6786) The Forum with Michael Krasny (between 9am and 11am PST every day) and demand equal time for Cindy Sheehan and tell him that the Congressional race in Ca8 is important to you and that to be viewed as a credible journalist, he should sponsor a debate between Nancy Pelosi and Cindy Sheehan.
Or call the comment number: 415 553 3300 and leave a message or email
Join the Cindy for Congress campaign in front of the KQED studios 2601 Mariposa St, 94110 (Bryant & Mariposa) at 8:30am October 29th when Nancy Pelosi is scheduled to appear, live and solo.
When I lived in the Bay Area, I DONATED to KQED! I was a member.
I just sent my email to KQED:
Equal time for Cindy Sheehan PLEASE
I just read that KQED refuses to provide equal time for all candidates.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was FOX, but KQED?
If it’s true that you’re not “focusing” on the Congressional race this year, why did you give time to Pelosi?
PLEASE, equal time!
And why won’t you host a debate WITH Pelosi? Why allow Pelosi to avoid the issues?
I’ll be adding your response to my post regarding this issue at [this URL]
Sincerely,
Christine Baker
Pelosi so sold out. Why is KQED supporting her? Big money donations?
